Laird Minor has filed for the Republican nomination for House District 27 (covering the greater Simpsonville area and parts of Mauldin), the seat presently held by Garry Smith who is retiring after this session. The primary election will be held on June 14.
A retired entrepreneur and businessman, Laird was trained as a lawyer but hasn’t practiced law for many years. He and his wife Nancy are 25-year residents of Simpsonville. He is a pro-life, small-government conservative, dedicated to protecting all of our constitutional rights and shrinking government. He seeks to reduce taxes, abolish the state income tax, implement true school choice, and make South Carolina more business-friendly to attract economic development to our state without the need for giveaways and subsidies.
